Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

You’ll be picked up whenever you arrive in Kathmandu Airport, and taken to your hotel. From here you can relaxe for a few hours, or explore the city, before your welcome dinner. All accommodation and transport is included on this trip.

Day 2: Kathmandu - Ramechhap (1,218m)

Today you’ll have a guided tour of Kathmandu and visit the local monastery, which overlooks the whole city. In the evening you’ll travel to the remote village of Ramechhap where you’ll stay in tented accommodation for the night. This is the only night of camping on the trip - for the rest of the trip you’ll stay in tea houses or hotels.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

From Ramechhap you’ll take an internal flight to Lukla (included). From here you’ll trek through the incredible Khumbu valley, to the small village of Phakding.

Day 4: Trek to Namche (3,400m)

On day 4, you continue along the Khumbu valley to Namche Bazaar - the largest town on the trek. Along the way you'll experience some breath-taking views, overlooking the Dudh Kosi river.

Day 5 – Day 6: Acclimatisation in Namche

The air is very thin here – with just 65% of the oxygen at sea level – so days 5 and 6 are used to acclimatise. You’ll do two short but spectacular acclimatisation hikes, so that you’re refreshed and ready for the trail ahead. The views of Ama Dablam (6,812m) are also spectacular from here, which is often considered the most beautiful mountain in the world.

Day 7 – Trek from Namche to Debouche (3710m)

You will trek past the incredible Thyangboche monastery and soak in amazing views of Everest itself, before heading to your accommodation in Debouche.

Day 8: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m)

Today you’ll trek to the tiny settlement of Dingboche, with impressive views of the Himalayan mountains around you.

Day 9: Acclimatisation day in Dingboche (4,410m)

Today is an acclimatisation day in Dingboche, with a variety of short treks to choose from with your guide.

Day 10: Trek to Lobuche (4,940m)

Today you’ll follow a steep path along the site of an old glacier, to the remote town of Lobuche.

Day 11: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

You start the day by hiking to Gorak Shep, stopping for a short break before heading off to Everest Base Camp! Here you can spend a few hours taking in the views and mountaineering history, before heading back to Gorak Shep for the night.

Day 12 - Kala Patthar (5550m)

Today you will have the opportunity to hike up Kala Patthar (5,550m) – the highest point of the trip – with incredible views of Everest itself. Afterwards you’ll trek back to the town of Pheriche (4240m).

Day 13 – 14: Return to Lukla (2,840m)

You’ll continue back down the valley to Lukla airport, stopping overnight at tea houses along the way.

Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu

You'll fly from Lukla to Ramechhap, and then stay in a hotel in Kathmandu for the night.

Day 16 – Fly home

On the final day, you’ll be dropped off at Kathmandu airport ahead of your flight home.

It was an amazing experience. I was taken care of ever since i landed in Kathmandu until my departure. The guide(Pujan Sapkota) and the assistant guide (Benja) were great and they took care of us along the route. The porters were amazing. They helped not only with carrying our bags but also by brightening up the mood every day. It was an amazing experience and service and i am really thankful for all the people that helped us get to our final destination!

Adventure of a lifetime!

I just got back a while ago from my trek through the Himalayas and I still cannot stop thinking about the incredible, life-changing experience. Let me start from the beginning... I had always wanted to trek to the legendary Everest Base Camp, and decided that 2018 would be my year to accomplish my goal. I wanted to go with a reputable and fun trekking company, and researched many companies in the process. I came across Skyhook on Facebook and was immediately intruiged. From the start, I was impressed with Alan and Damien, as well as the stellar reviews of their trips. I knew I had to sign up, and booked the trek for October 13th shortly after.

From my arrival in Nepal, I knew I had made the right choice. Our guides were all wonderful, and became fast friends. Everyone in the group was such a joy to be around. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people. The porters were always all smiles and hard working. I would not have completed the trek without any of these people.

As for the trek... it is simply unreal. Walking amongst some of the highest peaks in the world really humbles you. It makes you dream of reaching higher mountains and walking on more treks. And it's not just the majestic Himalayas. It's the culture. It's the food. It's the teahouse experiences. Be prepared to be in awe of the landscape. Be prepared to fall in love with this place and the people that live there. Be prepared to fall in love again with life, and daydream about future treks in the area. Be prepared to miss the mountains like crazy when you go home.

I cannot wait to go on another trip with Skyhook; they are the best!

Verified booking

Where to begin? From start to finish you're well and truly looked after and will quickly realise that you're not a customer but have become a friend of the Skyhook Team. Damien is super approachable, friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond to ensure you have an easy and awesome experience from the get go. Then there's the trip itself... I can't really put into words what a life changing experience it has been. The EBC trek is mesmerising with breathtaking, unforgettable views and scenery. The Nepalise culture will suck you in and you instantly feel immense peace and joy. The trek itself has been well thought out to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience possible with minimising stress every step of the way from giving you time to really take every moment in, to the guides who bend over backwards around the clock. On that note the guides and porters are incredible! The best part of the experience was our guides! Leading the pack was a man who hands down won over everyone's heart. He truly was a inspiration to all and one of the most beautiful souls I've ever had the pleasure of coming across. This trek alone was worth every penny just for getting to spend time and get to meet this lifelong, amazing friend. Much love and respect to you Hari, Namaste!  As for the young guides Lahkba, Raj and Benji, these guys run around for you constantly and have your back constantly. True legends and also now lifelong friends. What an amazing experience and cannot wait to book onto the many other trips Skyhook run! Thanks legends
