A guided 4-day trek around Mont Blanc, passing incredible glaciers and mountain lakes along the way. A challenging but achievable goal with breathtaking views, steep ascents, and a real sense of group adventure.

We meet you at Geneva Airport (8:00 AM) or Vert Lodge, Chamonix (9:00 AM), and then drive to the Italian side of Mont Blanc. From here, we hike up the Val Ferret Valley, enjoying incredible views of the Mont Blanc Massif along the way. 

In the afternoon, we arrive at the remote Rifugio W. Bonatti (mountain hut) at 2,025m of altitude.

All transfers, accommodation, guides, and food (excluding lunches) are included on this trip.

N.B. For September 2025 trips, it may be necessary to run a similar but different itinerary due to the predicted closure of the Mont Blanc Tunnel on Day 1. Please refer to the FAQs for more details. 

Courmayeur to Rifugio Bonatti, Val Ferret

We begin the day traversing the mountain, hiking up to the border with Switzerland. As you ascend, you will see beautiful views of the south face of the Mont Blanc range. 

Stopping along the way for a well-deserved rest, you will get your energy back before heading up to the highest point on your trek, the Grand Ferret Pass, at 2,536m. 

In the afternoon, we trek into Switzerland and head back down the mountain. Along the way, we pass through a local farm where you can sample some local cheeses before reaching La Fouly. 

From here, we take a minibus transfer, stopping on the way to swim in an alpine lake if the weather allows, to our evening destination in a secluded valley at the Relais D'Arpette. 

N.B. For September 2025 trips, a similar but different itinerary may be necessary due to the closure of the Mont Blanc Tunnel on Day 1. 

Rifugio Bonatti to La Fouly

The day starts with a gentle warm-up down through the woods before a challenging ascent hike to Bovine, known for its incredible rosti (pan-fried vegetable dish)! 

In the afternoon, we head back down through the world-famous Col de la Forclaz, which has been an important part of the Tour De France cycle race. 

The day ends with a nice descent to the picturesque Swiss village of Trient.

Today is the final day of hiking, trekking back into France. 

It's an early start as we make our way up to Col De Balme, boasting some of the most incredible views of Mont Blanc. 

The afternoon is then a pleasant hike down the mountain and through meadows to Le Tour. 

From here, we take a bus back to the Vert Lodge to collect luggage and say goodbye. 

Those who are returning directly to Geneva airport will be picked up at 4:30 PM. We recommend booking flights after 8:00 PM in case of delays on the mountain or in transit.

You'll meet the team 10:00 AM at Neptunes Staircase in Fort William, where you'll start your canoeing adventure. 

The calm waters of the Caledonian Canal offer a perfect opportunity to learn some of the basic skills, before heading out onto Loch Lochy.  Arriving at your wild camp on the side of the Loch, you'll enjoy dinner around the fire and some star gazing.

Today you'll paddle along the shore of Loch Lochy, taking in the amazing views of the Highland backdrops.  At Laggan Locks, you can visit the Eagle Barge for refreshments, before heading to your camp on the shores of Loch Oich.

After sunrise, the tranquil paddle along Loch Oich offers you opportunities to explore secluded shores and wooded bays.  At the end of the Loch, you'll join the Caledonian Canal towards Fort Augustus, where you can enjoy some food and drink overlooking Loch Ness.

As you paddle onto Loch Ness, the views are simply spectacular. Straight away you'll feel very much in the thick of the Scottish highlands, with a backdrop of the mountains and the myth and legends of the Loch itself. Make sure you keep a watchful eye out for Nessie. Your camp this evening will be on the shores of Loch Ness around the campfire.

The final day will see you leave Loch Ness and into the beautiful Loch Dochfour for a more relaxing paddle, then onto the canal to Inverness, where you will have paddled across Scotland.

We usually arrive in Inverness between 1-2 PM.  We then shuttle you back to Fort William, arriving around 5:00 PM.

If you want to be dropped off in Inverness, we can drop you off at the airport, train station or a hotel.  If you want to fly or catch a train that day, we suggest booking a departure after 6:00 PM.

Canoe Across Scotland

A four-day adventure around a Norwegian paradise, passing incredible fjords and sleeping under the stars.

Nordic Paddling

You'll be picked up at 4:00 PM from Stavanger Airport or 4:45 PM from Sandnes Sentrum Station (train station), and then driven to the cabin.

After settling in, the guides will prepare a nice dinner for you and explain the details for the following day. This trip includes all food, accommodation, equipment, and airport transfers.

After breakfast, you head out for a full day of kayaking on the Lysefjord. For those who want to, you'll have an opportunity to learn some skills along the way before stopping for lunch.

In the afternoon, you arrive back at your wild camp with enough time to relax a little. There is also an option to go for a short walk and get a better view of the fjord. 

The evening is spent around the campfire and under the stars. Sit back and relax while your guides cook up a delicious dinner on the open fire.

Wake up in Norwegian paradise and enjoy a nice cup of coffee over breakfast. This will prepare you for the day's hike up Pulpit Rock, where you have incredible views. 

After enjoying views of the fjord from above, you head back down to your campsite for dinner around the fire.

It's time to get back in the kayaks for another breathtaking paddle further into Lysefjord. Explore the waterfalls and incredible cliff faces, and see Pulpit Rock from below! Keep an eye out for the seals, which are common in the area. 

You arrive back at Stavanger airport by 4:00 PM for your flight home.

Hike, Kayak and Wild Camp the Norwegian Fjords

Hike the highest peak in England, Scotland and Wales. A tough but rewarding outdoor challenge that requires a high level of fitness to attempt to reach the summits within 24 hours.

You'll be collected from the train station, or one of the other pickup points (see FAQs below) on route to Fort William before heading to your hotel. In the evening you'll enjoy a briefing from the guide who will inform you of the plan for the challenge and answer any final questions you might have.

Meet the team

After a hearty breakfast, you'll be transferred to the bottom of Ben Nevis where you start your 24-hour challenge. The aim is to summit Ben Nevis by 11:30 AM before heading back down the mountain for the transfer to the Lake District. We aim to begin the Scafell Pike ascent with a few hours of daylight left. You'll arrive at the start point around 8:30 PM. During the summer months, you’ll reach the summit as the sun sets across the Lake District. Once down the mountain, you’ll head straight to Snowdonia in Wales. 

Please note: The walking pace is brisk to fast and the guide will be aiming for approximately 4km per hour in order to attempt the challenge within 24 hours. 

Hike Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike

The transfer to Snowdon takes around 4.5 hours and includes a driver changeover. This transfer is through the night so you will be sleeping on the bus. Have a quick snack, then get some rest. You'll arrive at the foot of Snowdon around 5:30 am. You trek as the sun begins to rise,  aiming to get to the summit at approximately 8 am to complete the challenge.
After the challenge, you'll be transferred to Chester Station or Warrington Station where you can continue your journey. The exact arrival time at the drop-off point can vary so we advise booking open rail tickets for your journey home, to be safe.

Hike Snowdon

National 3 Peaks Challenge (24 Hours)

Four days of challenging hut-to-hut hiking through the Italian Alps, passing stunning mountain glaciers and waterfalls.

Trekking Alps

We'll pick you up at Fermi metro station in Turin at 9:30 AM. If your flight arrives in the morning, we can also collect you at the Turin airport (meeting at 10:00 AM). If you have a car we can also meet directly at Rhemes Notre Dame at 11.30AM.

We then drive to the start of the trek at Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (about 2hrs drive). From here, we begin the hike through alpine meadows to the top of the Rhemes Valley, passing incredible waterfalls along the way. 

In the evening, we'll arrive at the remote Benevolo mountain hut. At 2,285m of altitude, this hut has fantastic views over the surrounding valleys, and you can often spot marmots and ibex in the distance.

Rhêmes-Notre-Dame to Rifugio Benevolo

This is a truly spectacular day and also one of the toughest climbs. We hike up the valley, reaching an altitude of 3,082m at Col Bassac Dere*. After a break to enjoy the views, we'll then continue to the stunning Goletta Lake. 

From Goletta, we pass some incredible glaciers before continuing along the valley to the remote Mario Bezzi hut (2,284m).

Hiking distance: 10.3Km, Ascent 830m, Descent 830m

*For those who have the energy, we can walk an extra 1 km (about 150 meters up and down) to reach Bec de Traversiere at 3333m, a peak in the middle of glaciers between Italy and France.

The day begins by hiking through alpine meadows, to San Martino Lake. If you like, you can cool down with a swim in the lake, enjoying stunning views of Mont Blanc in the background. 

We then continue along the next valley, crossing a few streams. We will see the quaint Italian town of Valgrisenche. In the afternoon, we arrive at the Chalet de l'Epee where we'll spend the night.

We'll hike up the Col Fenetre, a slit in the mountain at 2,700m with a mesmerising view of the Gran Paradiso peak. From here we will head down towards Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. 

From Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, you will be transferred back to Torino at Fermi metro station (around 5:00 PM).  You may want to spend time in Torino city afterwards. 

Otherwise, we'll drop you off at Caselle Turin Airport (if your flight is on the same evening). It's recommended you book your flight after 7:00 PM.  Contact us if it's slightly earlier, so we can make necessary arrangements.

Gran Paradiso Circuit Trek

Hike through France, Italy, and Switzerland on one of the world's greatest long-distance treks.

You will meet your guide at Les Houches, at the TMB Archway at 9am. From here you will take the cable car to the Bellevue top station, where the trek begins. Today's hike takes you past the Bionassay glacier to the Col du Tricot.

After a cosy night in the mountain hut, you will begin the day with a steep hike up to the famous Col du Bonhomme. In the afternoon you will hike across the Croix de la Bonhomme, to the small alpine village of Les Chapieux.

After breakfast, you will leave Les Chapieux and walk along the river on a nice and easy path. You will leave the river side and climb up to the Col de la Seigne, which is the French-Italian border at 2516 meters above sea level and also the highest point of the day. From there you have a 400-meter descent to the Refugio Elisabetta Soldini and then onto Rifugio Monte Bianco where you will spend the night.

A more relaxed day today, with great views of ambitious climbers tackling the south face of Mont Blanc itself. In the afternoon you hike down to the Italian mountain village of Courmayeur, with the option to take the cable car down for those who have tired legs.

The final day in Italy will take you on a beautiful hike along the Val Ferret, which separates the Italian and Swiss valleys.

A great hike from the Italian to the Swiss Val Ferret. You will ascend 700 meters to the Grand Col Ferret, the Italian-Swiss border and head down to the small village of La Fouly. For those who want, you can try their fantastic local cheese!

A relaxing day today with a trek through nice alpine meadows and Swiss villages. You'll end the day in Champex-Lac, which is a picturesque Swiss village with a beautiful lake that you can swim in.

After a great night in Champex you continue your hike and join the long but easy hike up to Bovine. From there you hike down to Trient by passing the Col de la Forclaz.

Say goodbye to Switzerland, as you hike through the mountains and across the French border. You start nice and early with a steep hike up to the Col de Balme, which boasts some of the best views of Mont Blanc. For those who want, you can also hike up to the Col des Possettes and the Aiguillette des Possettes peak.

The final day of your trek, with opportunities to climb over Lac Blanc on some adventurous ladders (you can also take the normal way which is a nice easy hike). Here you will have some of the best panoramic views of the entire trek. You will end your trek with a hike back down in the valley, or you can take the cable car down if you prefer, returning to Chamonix for 5pm.

Tour du Mont Blanc Classic Route

Spend four days touring the West Coast of Scotland by canoe, exploring lochs, castles, and remote beaches 
 A great trip to start canoeing and wild camping.

We will launch at the top of Loch Shiel (about 20 min from the meet point) and give you time to learn how to control your canoes before starting our journey down the loch. Loch Sheil has amazing views and full of wildlife.  Amongst the bird life we will see oyster catchers, peregrines and ospreys.

We have an amazing wild campsite lined up, which has deer and maybe a pine marten as visitors.

Note: The starting point can vary depending on the wind direction. I.e; we may start the other way round if conditions are more favourable.

Meet and set off on to Loch Shiel

We will start the day with a camp breakfast and coffee and head to the end of Loch Shiel.  Along the way we have the potential to see deer, wild goats and if you are lucky Pine Martens.

For tea, our guides will prepare one of their favourite camp meals - and no, it's not army rations!  Tonights campsite will have a toilet.


Loch Shiel to Acharacle

We depart in the morning to arrive at the southern end of Loch Shiel, where we can visit Acharacle to re-supply and make a cafe stop.

In the afternoon, we paddle down the beautiful River Shiel to the sea and Loch Moidart, where we will set camp for the night.

Today we break camp and paddle over to Tioram Castle for a look around. 

We will be joined by some curious seals as well as more eagles, terns and oyster catchers.  Subject to weather we will explore around Eileen Shona and some golden sandy beaches.  The views out here are stunning and the water is crystal clear!  

We will land around 3pm and take you back to our meeting point.

We’ll meet at the Old Town Outfitters shop and walk over to where the bikes are stored for sizing and quick gear explanations. 

Riding to the south, we’ll head out of Antigua and onto the base of Agua Volcano. The focus of the ride will be to explore and experience the various towns and villages of the Almolonga Valley. 

Your guide will make plenty of stops along the way to show off the magnificent churches and Spanish colonial ruins. We’ll also visit an experimental macadamia farm and go through local textile markets.

Bike tour of surrounding villages, farms, and ruins

In the morning, we’ll drive out of the Panchoy Valley and through the lowlands of Guatemala’s Pacific slope. A 1.5hr drive will take us to the base of Pacaya Volcano, where we begin a warm-up hike for the rest of the volcanoes to follow. 

Pacaya has been one of Guatemala’s most active volcanoes since its recorded history began. It has erupted over twenty times since the Spanish arrived and has a constant smoking crater. 

Arriving below the crater, we can explore the vast dried lava fields and lunar-like landscape. We’ll even toast marshmallows in active heat vents! 

Returning to Antigua, the evening is free to stroll through the streets and enjoy the many markets, cafes, restaurants, and bars that make it such a great city.

Pacaya Volcano Day hike

After meeting your guide and checking your gear, we load bags and bodies into our vehicle and set out for a 2.5hr road trip up into the highlands towards Lake Atitlán. We’ll stop on the road for a coffee and bathroom break at a quaint rest stop outside the mountain town of Tecpán (breakfast not included).

Upon arrival at the Lake Highlands area, we unload bikes and cyclists and fit group members to their mountain bikes and gear. We give instructions on bicycle operation, safety tips, and a brief orientation of the surrounding terrain. Everyone has a chance to ask any questions they may have, apply sunscreen, and adjust clothing layers. 

We start down a steep country road traversing the high tableland above Lake Atitlán. This mostly downhill ride takes you through several small villages and towns before rounding a final ridgeline and joining the road up from the Pacific coast bound for Panajachel.

At the first vista overlooking Lake Atitlán, your guide will stop and prepare a picnic lunch (included) and orient you to the lakeside towns and geographic features of Lake Atitlán. 

After lunch, we’ll continue breezing down the quick and windy road to the lakeside town of Panajachel. From here, we will catch a boat to Jaibalito, and the beautiful cliffside hotel Casa del Mundo.

Cycle to Lake Atitlan

After waking up to gorgeous views of the lake and its towering volcanoes, we’ll begin our morning with the adventure of open-water kayaking on Lake Atitlan’s deep blue-green volcanic waters. 

Our paddle will take us along the northern shore and beneath the towering hills. After a couple of hours on the water, we’ll switch our paddles for our hiking shoes and walk along the cliffside trails high above the lake. 

The hike will take us through local towns and complete the spectacular trilogy of viewpoints by bike, kayak, and foot.

After a nice lunch at Casa del Mundo, we grab our belongings and jump on a boat to catch our private transfer back to Antigua.

Kayak and hike around Lake Atitlan

Our morning begins with scenic transport up Acatenango’s slopes and into the small, sleepy mountain village of La Soledad (2,390m). Then, a 5hr hike takes us through changing microclimates and provides many scenic views of the surrounding countryside. 

We spend the night at our private campsite, a bench cut into the side of Acatenango, and overlooking the nearby Fuego Volcano, just 4km away. 

Fuego is the most constantly erupting volcano in recorded history, and during our night in camp, we will have plenty of time to appreciate the incredible sights and sounds of its eruptions.

Acatenango Volcano overnight hike

After an early rise to enjoy the sunrise over the Antigua Valley, we start our last push to Acatenango’s summit (3,975m). We ascend on a sand and gravel scree trail dotted with dwarf pines, taking in incredible views the whole way up. 

Atop the impressively large summit, we enjoy unparalleled 360-degree views of the entirety of the Guatemalan Highlands, including the peaks that make up the volcanic spine of Guatemala, stretching all the way to Mexico. 

Then, we hike 3hrs down to the local community of La Soledad, where we meet our transport and drive back to Antigua. 

You’ll have the whole afternoon to explore Antigua, do some last-minute shopping, or just relax back at the hotel. Enjoy the many dining options in Antigua for your last night.

Welcome to Quito - America's largest and best-preserved colonial city - declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. The city is considered the Cultural Capital of South America and is located on the equator in a valley at the foothills of the Pichincha volcano.

Depending on your arrival time, spend your day exploring the old town of Quito and the surrounding area. Your local Host can help you organize a day tour. 

In the evening, your trip leader will meet you at the hotel’s lobby at 6:00 PM for a welcome briefing. We'll discuss the details and questions you may have regarding the adventure.

Arrive in Quito

The adventure begins when we drive south on the Pan American highway for around 2hrs. The area, known as The Avenue of Volcanoes, was named by the famous German Explorer, Alexander Vond Humboldt. On the way, enjoy views of volcanoes like Cayambe, Antisana, Pichincha, Illinizas, Pasochoa, and Corazon.

Begin by hiking the sierra climate around the Limpiopungo lagoon (13,000ft/3,800m) on the foothills of the Rumiñahui volcano. From here, we have the best views of Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world. We may also see wild horses, wild bulls, and some bird species. 

If the weather conditions permit, we'll attempt to trek to the base camp at 16,000ft (4,876m). 

To end the day, we drive to Isinlivi where we overnight.

Trek in Cotopaxi National Park

The charming Andean Mountain landscapes provide today's inspiration as we trek along the Toachi Canyon for 8.4mi (13.5km). Experience stunning views of small villages and indigenous people working in the fields. 

We hike down to the canyon of the Toachi River, and then back up to the main road that will take us to Chugchilán, a small town located in the middle of the Quilotoa Loop. Here we will find our Eco-house accommodation. 

In the afternoon, explore the village with the great opportunity to gain a bit of cultural experience with the locals.

Trekking time: 2hrs downhill from 10,810ft (3,295m) to the Toachi River at 9,500ft (2,896m). Then 2 hours uphill to Chugchilán at 10,498ft (3,200m)

Trek through the Toachi Canyon to Chugchilan

After an early breakfast, we start our hiking adventure for 6.9mi (11km) on small trails blazed by the mountain people. The trails are still used by locals to transport products and to travel across the canyons to reach neighboring communities. It's common to see the traditional custom of exchanging goods (bartering) on this trail. 

We venture down into impressive canyons to later climb back up to the top of the crater rim, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Quilotoa Lake. The majesty of this place will take your breath away.

Enjoy a beautiful picnic with the best views from the volcano. Then, transfer 2.5hrs to a lodge in a magical hacienda in the foothills of Chimborazo volcano.

Trekking time: 1hr downhill from 10,498ft to the Toachi River at 9,800ft. Then 2.5hrs uphill to 13,000ft. After, 1.5hrs on flat terrain.

Trek to Quilotoa

Getting an early start to the day, we drive through valleys and farming villages to reach the Chimborazo Volcano. This is the highest mountain in Ecuador with an elevation of 20,702ft (6,310m) above sea level; whose summit is the furthest point from the center of the earth on the entire planet. 

On a clear day, the majestic peak of  Chimborazo dominates the view for many miles. Visiting this spectacular national park includes a short hike of around half a mile to reach the elevation of 16,404ft (5,000m) where the glacier begins. 

On the hike, try to spot some of the animals that inhabit this volcanic climate, such as the Andean condor, cara- cara, hummingbirds, and the timid wild Vicuñas. Once extinct in Ecuador, they were reintroduced into the wild and are now protected.

Enjoy a delicious picnic at the base camp before we leave.

Trek to Chimborazo Base Camp

Today, we trek in Llanganates National Park, famous for its amazing landscapes and storied mystery. Legend has it that the Inca General Rumiñahui has a large sum of gold hidden somewhere in the Tungurahua Mountain range. 

Start the hike at 10,498ft (3,200m), reaching 12,024ft (3,600m). As you hike upward, watch the changes in vegetation. Expect stunning views of the Tungurahua Volcano and the Sangay Volcano (if visibility is good). 

After this beautiful trek, we return to Baños to spend the last night in this magical town. You'll have a good opportunity to visit the spa and get a massage after a day of trekking. In the evening we can soak in the famous hot springs of Baños and experience the thriving nightlife of this town.

Trek in the Llanganates National Park

Baños town is well known for its spectacular location at the foothills of the active Tungurahua volcano. It's an excellent place for outdoor activities, including horseback riding, canyoning, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and rafting. 

This morning, we hit the Road of Waterfalls. The first stop is at the Bride’s Veil Waterfall, where we take the Tarabita (cable car) to get across the Pastaza River. Then, hike down for 1hr to the Pailon del Diablo waterfall, the second-highest in Ecuador. 

After a day full of adventures in the cloud forest, you will enjoy the scenic ride returning us to Quito City.

Trekking time: 45mins downhill from 5,249ft to 4,950ft. Then 1hr uphill same way back.

Quito arrival day

Today we get ready to explore the most amazing archipelago in the Pacific coast where Charles Darwin based his theory on the evolution of species. 

We board a morning flight from Quito to the island of Baltra. Once we arrive, we head to the town of Puerto Ayora, the largest town in the Galapagos. From here we will take a quick boat to the largest island in the archipelago, where most of the volcanic activity in the Galapagos is reported. 

The island was formed by six shield volcanoes: Alcedo, Cerra Azul, Darwin, Ecuador, Sierra Negra, and Wolf. Five of them are still active which makes the island one of the most volcanically active places on earth. 

Galapagos Islands are located 600mi (965.6 km) from the coast of Ecuador. It's important to understand that you will have to take air, road, and sea transportation to get there.

Galapagos - Isabela Island

Explore the amazing formations of lava created by the last eruptions of the volcanic island along the seashore. This magical place has historically been filmed by BBC and National Geographic for their documentaries. It is a labyrinth of lava arches comprised of crystal-clear water full of sea turtles, eagle rays, sea lions, sharks, and more. 

The turtles navigate their own highway from the mangroves to the open sea through “Los Tuneles”. Here, we will have the best snorkeling opportunity with all these beautiful animals, including the curious Galapagos penguins playing around. 

In the afternoon, we return to Puerto Villamil to go kayaking in Tintoreras to observe sea lions, penguins, turtles, and marine iguanas. This will be the best snorkeling opportunity with all these beautiful animals, including the curious Galapagos penguin playing around. 

Before or after the trip, you can enjoy some optional activities such as biking or just relax on the exotic white-sand beaches of Isabela Island. We recommend taking some time to visit the giant tortoise breeding center located within walking distance from the hotel.

Snorkel at Lava Tunnels

After breakfast, at around 8:00 AM, we depart to Sierra Negra Volcano. You will drive to the highlands of Isabela where you would normally start hiking. The volcano, with its height of around 4,920ft (1,500M), and outer diameter of approximately 5.6mi (9km), is the second biggest lava dome in the world.

We lunch at a local restaurant in the highlands on a beautiful organic farm. The owners prepare their food with vegetables and fruits grown locally at the farm. Prepared on a lava rock grill, enjoy a delicious meal. 

After lunch, take a walk among the fruit trails. Or simply take a nap in one of the hammocks and breathe the clean air below a big Mango tree.

We then make our way back to the pier, arriving at 2.30 PM. After a short briefing, we start kayaking in the bay where we can enjoy the local wildlife. Observe penguins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, iguanas Marinas, sea turtles, sea lions, eagle rays, and sometimes Sharks “Tintoreras” juveniles. 

To finish this day, at 4:30 PM, we have a short visit to Concha & Perla, a small beach in Puerto Villamil where we snorkel. A short beautiful walk through the mangroves on a boardwalk will lead you to the spot with turquoise waters and wildlife galore! You can expect to see plenty of other tourists alongside colorful fish, sea lions, sea turtles, pelicans, mockingbirds, and maybe even marine iguanas!

Hike Sierra Negra - Kayak in Tintoreras - Snorkel at Concha Y Perla

In the morning, traverse from Isabela to Santa Cruz Island to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. 

Once we arrive, we check in at the hotel. Then, we visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn more about many of the endemic species seen in the wild, as well as the ongoing conservation and management efforts on the Galapagos Islands. 

In the afternoon, we will head to the ‘Primicias’ reserve in the highlands of Santa Cruz, home to the famous Galapagos tortoises. Hiking through Primicias’ beautiful landscape with these lumbering giants is an unforgettable experience! 

We will also see other highland wildlife, such as pintail ducks, egrets, flycatchers, finches, and frigatebirds, which gather to wash the salt off their feathers at a freshwater lake. 

Afterward, return to Puerto Ayora to spend the evening in Galapagos’ most populous town.

After driving up from Puerto Villamil to the trail head, we prepare our backpacks for the hike into a young forest ecosystem, a world of recent geological history. Our destination is the rim of Sierra Negra Crater, an active volcano that last erupted in June 2018.

Upon arrival, we take in breathtaking views and explore the circumference of the massive, lava-filled crater, a caldera that is over 6mi across at its widest point. 

If we feel energetic enough, we can continue our hike to Volcan Chico. This is a secondary crater that has a wild landscape of puffing fumaroles and colorful lava formations. They're great examples of the dramatic geological events that have formed the Galapagos Islands over millennia.

In the afternoon, we visit Tintoreras Islet, located a short distance from Puerto Villamil and home to a great variety of wildlife. Its turquoise, crystalline waters are inhabited by white-tipped reef sharks, Galapagos Penguins, marine turtles, and sea lions. One of its beaches, surrounded by mangroves, is one of the few sites where marine iguanas can reproduce successfully.

Hike and Kayak

Charles Darwin Research Station

After our final breakfast on the Galapagos Islands and taking the last photos of sea lions, we have a transfer to Baltra’s airport in time to catch the flight back to the mainland.

Early in the morning, we will drive down along a curved panoramic road towards the Amazon Rainforest. As we descend from an altitude of 9,843ft to 1,640ft (3,000m to 500m), watch the landscape and vegetation change drastically between climates. 

Later, we stop at the “Guacamayos-Macaw Lookout,” located between Antisana and Sumaco National Reserves (low-elevation cloud forest), to observe the magic blanket of clouds that covers the Amazon rainforest. 

Finally, we arrive at the Arajuno River, where a motor canoe will take us 20mins up the river to the Eco Lodge. Have a short break before dinner, with an optional nocturnal hike to view insects.

First Amazon exploration

Early in the morning with the sunrise we take a canoe up the Arajuno river to go visit the Saladero. This is what the locals call a Parrot’s clay lick. 

Here we have a very close wildlife encounter, as the birds come almost every morning. They like licking this clay, as it's full of necessary minerals that aid in digestion (their main diet is nuts). 

After breakfast, we go for a hike in the Amazon forest to learn more about the flora, fauna, and survival techniques people need when living here. 

In the afternoon, we visit the nearby Kichwa community, where we'll meet people who share their traditions and stories with us.

Today we head back to the Andes Mountains. Before going to Quito, we stop at Papallacta Hot Springs to soak in the volcanic pools. Take an optional spa treatment before heading back to the city.

Galapagos and Amazon Quest

Spend a long weekend in the Lake District National Park enjoying a variety of watersports and mountain adventure activities.



We will be ready to welcome you from 5:00 PM on Friday, where you can meet the guides and the rest of the group.  For anyone who can arrive by 6:00 PM, we will take you on an evening/sunset Paddleboard trip around the lake.

Note that this itinerary is a guideline and we can change things depending on group preferences.

Meet and Explore

Today we have a fun day lined up for you including walking and exploring some unique landscapes. We spend the morning exploring quarry tunnels and abseiling, followed by a wet mystery challenge.  Tunnels, jumping and swimming are all involved!

Saturday: Canoe Adventure Windermere

Our final day will see us explore Coniston water by canoe, visiting Piel Island - as featured on Swallows and Amazons to finish at the Blue Bird Cafe for lunch.

In the afternoon we will take you to one of the best Gorge walking Venues in the Lake District to jump, swim and slide your way up and down the gorge!
We will finish our activities by 5pm.


Explore Coniston

Lake District Adventure Weekend

A beautiful hike in Ayas Valley, the Italian side of Monte Rosa. Monte Rosa has the second-highest peak in the Alps and some of the biggest glaciers in Europe. Explore this amazing part of the world while sleeping in cosy mountain huts!

We meet you at Fermi Metro Station at 9:30 AM. If you're flying in, there is an option for pick up at Torino Caselle Airport at 10:00 AM. It's about a 1hr 20min drive from Fermi to the start of our trail.

Our first section is a stunning hike up the forest, reaching alpine meadows in Ayas Valley. It's quite a challenging hike, even though the trail is steady and very beautiful. Our accommodation for the night, Arp Hut, has a wonderful wide view over all of Aosta Valley.

Distance: 7.5km | 1,000m ascent | 4hrs 

Brusson-Rifugio Arp

Today, our hike takes us past Palazinaz Lake, where we can take a dip and cool off before heading up the Palasina Pass. After this ascent, we trek down the main Ayas Valley. After reaching the beautiful balcony trail from View Crest to Resy, the cosy Ferraro hut awaits us.  It's a pretty long day, but there's not as much elevation as the previous day.

Distance: 15km | 720m ascent | 1,000m descent | 6hrs

Rifugio Arp - Rifugio Ferraro

We trek through the larch forest to reach the beautiful Pian de Verraz. Here, we can admire the glaciers of Monte Rosa from an ideal viewpoint.

Next, we hike in a beautiful wild forest (altitude approx. 2,000m) with streams and old mountain villages. We then take the lateral valley, hiking up to the Grand Tournalin Hut at 2,600m.

Distance: 12km | 880m ascent | 400m descent | 5hrs

We hike up the Col de Nana (2,775m). For those who don't suffer from vertigo, we can go an extra 30mins up to the amazing Becca Trecare at 3,000m. From there, we have an amazing view of the most prominent mountains of the Alps, including Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso, and Mont Blanc! This is also a good spot to look out for magnificent Ibex rams.

Finally, we hike a long way down to Champolouc through alpine meadows to the end of our trail. Relax with a beer while the guide goes to fetch the vehicle.

For those catching a flight out this evening, we usually get back by 5:00 PM to Torino Caselle Airport. So, we recommend booking your flight from 7:00 PM onwards.
