A lot of our activities are water based and you will be submerged. For these activities, we will provide you with a wetsuit, and you are welcome to bring your own. Some of the activities are around rocks, so please don't bring very expensive wet suits! You will need your usual outdoor clothes: - Synthetic clothing (2 sets) - Base Layers - Fleeces - Walking trousers/leggings - Waterproof jacket and trousers - Jacket - Swimwear - Old trainers that lace up and protect the toes (not wetsuit boots) for gorge walking - Shorts that will fit OVER your wetsuit - Walking boots or supportive approach shoes - Small rucksack (25 Litre) - Sleeping bag Personal Items: - Toiletries - Head torch - Power bank - Hats/gloves/sun protection - depending on time of year - Midge protection - head net and smidge repellent For canoeing, we don't envisage getting wet, but occasional capsizes do happen! So, bring the usual outdoor clothing or wetsuits.
We will meet at Coniston Sports and Social Club car park. We will be available for 3:00 PM on the Friday. We plan to have an evening activity if you can get to us by 6:00 PM. Don't worry if you can't make it though, there are still two great days of adventure left! We're able to offer pick-ups from Windermere station or Ambleside.
It’s highly recommended you take out personal travel insurance. Travel cover protects you in the case of unforeseen circumstances including cancellations, injuries, equipment loss, flight changes and other events that could negatively impact your trip. We have had guests in the past who were not able to attend due to cancelled trains, vehicle breakdowns, illness, emergencies at home to name a few, it's best to be covered for these situations. We suggest specialist adventure travel insurers, [Rise & Shield](https://riseandshield.com/). They cover 100s of activities and are easy to deal with if you need to make a claim. They also cover unique scenarios, like trekking at altitude or emergency evacuation in hard-to-reach places, that ordinary travel insurance doesn’t cover.
We will vary our accommodation on each trip depending on demand, but expect to sleep in Tepees, camping pods, or Youth Hostels. Our March, April, September and October trips will be indoors accomodation. The May-August ones we will camp. When we are camping in Teepees, we will share in 3s. If you would prefer your own tent, we have 2-man hiking tents available. When we stay in youth hostels, you will share with other group members, but we won't fill rooms. If you would like your own room, we can arrange this for an additional charge. If you would like to have your own more luxurious accommodation we can help you find something!
