The trip was well planned with a lot of amazing activities. Met some really cool people, and I enjoyed it a lot. Jed and Chucky were amazing at their job, making sure we were all looked after and having a good time. They are very considerate and good human beings. They will go the extra mile to make sure you have the best overall experience. This was my 2nd trip with Skyhook and goog2go and I recommend it absolutely.

What an absolutely amazing weekend!! Jed was a fantastic guide - and a great campsite chef! Really patient, kind and accommodating. Jed and the fab group of people on my trip went out of their way to help me join in all the activities I could, despite some health conditions. We had a fab time canoeing, swimming, climbing and abseiling. I managed to do things that I wasn’t sure I would be brave or fit enough to do! I would recommend this trip to anyone!!

Such a fantastic value trip! Don't sit on this one - get it booked! We packed so much in such a short space of time it felt like we were away for ages not just a couple of days. The trip was well organised, and we were looked after so well by Jed (our intrepid guide). He really catered for every level and made sure everyone was supported and enjoyed every activity. He makes a mean bacon sarnie also! The lakes are beautiful and such an exciting place to explore. The campsite was great. This is our second trip with Good To Go Adventures and Skyhook and we will 100% book more!

Absolutely amazing weekend from start to finish. Our guide was brilliant; he was incredibly calm and patient with us, with no pressure to do any of the activities if we didnt want to but reassuring if we did. I loved all the varied activities we did over the weekend, even though i was outside my comfort zone on a few occasions. The campsite had showers, toilets and portaloos in some areas which was straight onto Coniston, so also easy access for watersports and a relaxing start to our full on days. The food provided was delicious. We were also in great company, with us all getting on as a group. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday if you like to be challenged, enjoy being outside in beautiful countryside whatever the weather and getting wet. I certainly did

Really nicely done trip, great guide and staff and some really lovely people to share the weekend with. The gorge walking was a particular highlight, it was cold for the first few minutes and then you just get used to it and have the best time you can imagine clambering over rocks and jumping off waterfalls. You will get plenty of steps in on some of the walks, as long as you have a reasonable level of fitness you will be fine, no one in our group struggled with any of the challenges. Jed and Chucky made sure that we were all safe, entertained and happy throughout, a real credit to Skyhook adventures. I would recommend this to friends and family and would certainly book again for another trip. And if camping isn't for you then there is a hotel less than 5 minutes away (no one on our group used it, but I would be tempted to next time perhaps)

Just back from an incredible weekend in Coniston and honestly can’t recommend this group highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything felt relaxed, welcoming and brilliantly organised without ever feeling overly structured. The weekend somehow managed to fit in canoeing on Coniston Water, gorge walking, underground mine exploration, abseiling into Cathedral Quarry, campfires, BBQs, karaoke and plenty of laughs in between. What really stood out though was the atmosphere. A lot of us arrived not knowing each other, but the organisers created the kind of environment where people quickly felt included and comfortable. By the end of the weekend it felt more like a group of friends than strangers on a trip. The activities were genuinely memorable too. Exploring the old copper mines in complete darkness, feeling our way through parts of it by hand, was both fascinating and slightly terrifying in equal measure. The 47m abseil into Cathedral Quarry was one of those experiences that pushes you just far enough outside your comfort zone to feel amazing afterwards. The hosts were also really flexible and accommodating throughout the weekend. They adapted the itinerary around the group, the weather and energy levels rather than rigidly sticking to a plan, which made the whole experience feel far more relaxed and enjoyable. Massive thanks to the organisers for putting together such a varied, adventurous and welcoming weekend. I came home exhausted, muddy, slightly bruised, and very happy. Already looking at the next trip. 💙

FAQs

Before you go

A lot of our activities are water based and you will be submerged. For these activities, we will provide you with a wetsuit, and you are welcome to bring your own. Some of the activities are around rocks, so please don't bring very expensive wet suits! You will need your usual outdoor clothes: - Synthetic clothing (2 sets) - Base Layers - Fleeces - Walking trousers/leggings - Waterproof jacket and trousers - Jacket - Swimwear - Old trainers that lace up and protect the toes (not wetsuit boots) for gorge walking - Shorts that will fit OVER your wetsuit - Walking boots or supportive approach shoes - Small rucksack (25 Litre) - Sleeping bag Personal Items: - Toiletries - Head torch - Power bank - Hats/gloves/sun protection - depending on time of year - Midge protection - head net and smidge repellent For canoeing, we don't envisage getting wet, but occasional capsizes do happen! So, bring the usual outdoor clothing or wetsuits.

We will be on the campsite to meet from 5pm, with the paddleboarding session starting at 6pm. Our meeting location will be communicated closer to the date, as this may depend on the weather, but it will be in Coniston. We will provide a meal after the session - Usually burgers/BBQ.

It’s highly recommended that you take out personal travel insurance. Travel cover can protect you in the case of unforeseen circumstances, including cancellations, injuries, equipment loss, flight changes and other events that could negatively impact your trip. We have had guests in the past who were not able to attend due to cancelled trains, vehicle breakdowns, illness, emergencies at home, to name a few. It's best to be covered for these situations. Note that standard insurance often doesn't cover adventure activities. We recommend using specialist adventure travel insurers, like [Rise & Shield](https://riseandshield.com/?ref=mdi5ywe), for your trip. Specialist insurers can cover unique scenarios, like trekking at altitude or emergency evacuation in hard-to-reach places, that ordinary travel insurance doesn’t cover. It's your responsibility to carefully check the details of your policy to ensure that you're covered for the specific activities you'll be carrying out.

You don't need any paddling, or climbing experience to enjoy this adventure - the guides are great at making it enjoyable for all abilities. If you regularly participate in activities like walking, swimming, cycling etc., you will already have a good level of fitness for this trip. Most people have little to no experience, and that's ok. You'll spend time learning the basic skills from your expert guide. The Paddleboarding is a relaxing evening paddle enjoying the sunset. The canoe trip is around 10km with a break 1/2 way. The gorge walking requires the ability to walk on rough terrain and make easy climbs. The abseiling involves a 3 km walk to the venue and 3km back. Whilst there, there is some easy scrambling to do. The mystery challenge involves some cold water, jumping and swimming.... But it's worth it! If you don't wish to do a certain activity, you will be able to watch, or do bits that you choose! Drop us a message if you are unsure!

On your trip

We will accommodate you in our Bell tents (sleep 2-3 people) , or if you prefer your own tent, we can provide you with a 2-man hiking tent. There are showers and toilets at the campsite.
