Day 1: Arrive in Marrakech

The local guide will collect you from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Marrakech. Here you will have a chance to settle into your rooms and enjoy a nice, traditional evening meal

Day 2: Tour ancient Marrakech and transfer to Imlil

Today you will have an opportunity to explore inside the old city walls of Marrakech, known as the Old Medina. Your guide will show you the sites and even take you into the hustle and bustle of the world famous Souks, where you can grab a bargain! In the evening, you will be transferred to the small town of Imlil, which sits deep in the Atlas Mountains.

Day 3: Trek to Azzaden Valley

Trek through small Berber villages as you watch the goat herders hard at work in the Imlil Valley. In the afternoon you will head along the beautiful Tizi Mziki Pass 2460m where you will enjoy a traditional lunch with incredible views of some of the highest mountains in North Africa. There are plenty of rest stops along the way!

Day 4: Trek in The Ouigane National Reserve

Trek down the valley to the stunning Tamsoulte Waterfalls before jumping into your 4 wheel drive transport to Ouigane National Reserve. Here you can enjoy a pleasant hike around the lake and local villages. In the evening, you can cool off in the pool at your accommodation before dinner.

Day 5: Camel Trek and return to Marrakech

Camel trekking in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in the Asni Valley. After the trek, you will have lunch with your Moroccan guides family before heading back to Marrakech.

2. Do I need immunisations?

We can't advise you on this, but we recommend you check at  .

3. Will it be too tiring for the children?

The longest you will be on your feet for is 5 hrs. If this becomes too much for the children, then there will be mules on hand for them to ride back to the accommodation.

4. Are there any age restrictions?

The minimum age for this adventure is 7 years old.

5. What are the accommodations like?

The rooms are all private rooms with double beds or twin sharing. Showers have warm water most of the time. There is also a swimming pool at the accommodation on day 4.

6. Do I need to arrange my own flights?

Yes, Everything is included except international flights. Your guide will pick you up from Marrakech airport (or city if you have arrived early) and drop you back at the end. All in-country travel, food, accomodation and instruction is included.

7. What equipment do I need?

Clothing suitable for hiking in temperatures from +25C to +8C. The full kit list will be sent to you when you apply for the course.

8. Can i leave a bag at the accommodation? 

Yes, you can leave anything you don't need in Imlil.

9. Do i need to carry all my stuff up the mountain?

The local guides use mules to carry any extra baggage that you don't need whilst trekking. The muleteers work really hard to ensure the fair treatment of their mules, so weight limits do apply. See the information pack for more details.
