3 Day Trek from Marrakech To Climb Mount Toubkal

This three-day trip will take you out of the bustling Imlil Valley and into the tranquillity of the Azzaden Valley before ascending Toubkal. You spend three days climbing the highest peak in North Africa. Mount Toubkal summit 4167m, excellent views of the Atlas Mountains Moroccan, verdant valley Berber settlements, meet our team, local guide and muleteers, go to enjoy this adventure of a lifetime. Toubkal (4167m) is Morocco's highest mountain and a trek peak. In the winter, two days are spent trekking with crampons and an ice axe for safety (Oct to May). The route is intended for experienced hikers because the ascent is non-technical but includes some simple scrambling and snow slopes. The views from the summit are breathtaking, with vistas across the mountains to Marrakech to the north and the beginning of the Sahara desert to the south. The craggy mountains of the High Atlas reach as far as the eye can see in all directions.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil –Tamsoult Mountain Refuge:

You will be taken up from your Marrakech hotel. Your driver will transport you to Imlil (1,780m), the beginning site of your walk, where you will meet your guide and muleteer. After loading the mules, you will begin your walk, which will begin with a rather steep ascent out of the Imlil valley, up to the Tizi n Mzik pass (2,489m), which provides spectacular mountain vistas. The route next descends into the magnificent Azzadene valley, often known locally as the valley of color. You'll pass via the summer hamlet of Azib n'Tansoult and the lovely D'Irhouliden waterfalls, which run all year, before continuing to the Lepiney mountain refuge (3,000m), where you'll spend the night trekking with a lad riding a mule in the Atlas Mountains.

Day 2: Day 2: Mountain Refuge – Aguelzim Pass (3,560m) – Toubkal Refuge:

This morning, you'll set out on a pretty strenuous ascent out of the Azzadene Valley, headed for the Toubkal Refuge, where you'll spend the night. You will return through the D'Irhoulidene waterfalls before ascending the Aguelzim Mountain pass (3,560m). Lunch will be served at a location with spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains. After soaking in the panorama, you'll begin your descend to the 3,200-meter-high Toubkal Mountain Refuge. The dorms at the refuge tend to be full with other trekkers hoping to tackle Toubkal early the next morning, so we normally camp at the Refuge in the summer and when the weather permits.

After approximately 7 hours of trekking (600m rise and 443m descend), a guy stands on a large rock overlooking a lush valley.

After basking in the majesty of the peak, return to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge and then take the well-trodden trail back to Imlil, past the holy site of Sidi Charmmharouch. When you arrive in Imlil, you will be transferred back to Marrakech, where you will arrive in the early evening.
