The trip takes us through colorful Berber communities, across beautiful mountain passes, and finally to the top of Mount Toubkal at 4,167m. A fantastic high mountain in North Africa, 6 day Mount Toubkal summit 4167m, experience excellent views of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, verdant valley Berber towns.
We will be picked up in Marrakech and driven 50 kilometers to Imi-oughlad, where we will meet our crew of mules bearers and cooks. After loading the mules, we will go to the valley of Imenane, gradually climbing over Tizi n Lbour and descending into the hamlet of Imeskar for lunch. After lunch, we continue going through the little valley in the shadow of countless enormous walnut trees, an easy climb with no technical difficulties into hamlet Tinghar, and then into Tidili night and the small village of Gliz.
A short rise through juniper woods to cross Tizi-n-Oukaimden, a stunning view of the river Ousrtik and distant peaks of the mass Toubkal, and then by crossing the Okaimden 3700m. Lunch is given shortly following the highest station in North Africa, Ski. And by the collar, Eddi joins the gorgeous High Atlas Valley Tachddirt for a spectacular view of the mountains and valley, followed by an easy descent down to our community's night accommodation Tachdirth.
After breakfast, we continue our journey into the Assif Imnane valley, passing through several Berber settlements before climbing to the Tizi n'ageursiwal (2000m). We'll descend more winding mule routes to Aguersiwal once we've crossed the col (lunch stop). From here, we'll proceed up Matat's valley, giving ourselves another hour to get there.
The six-hour journey out of the Matat Valley and into the Azzadene Valley begins at Matat. Along the way, you will pass Tizi Oudite at 2,250m, Ait Aissa Village, Tizi oussm Village, and Azib n'Tansoult. Spend the night at the Azib n Tamsoult mountain refuge at 2300m. Take advantage of this 6-day Berber Villages Trek.
Today's climb out of the Azzadene Valley over the Ighouliden waterfalls to the Toubkal Refuge through the 3,560m Aguelzim Mountain pass is rather tough. Lunch will be provided with a view of the Atlas Mountain Range. Overnight in the Toubkal Refuge (Niltner Hut), where you will most likely share a bunk room with other hikers who will tackle Toubkal the next morning.
Early start for the trek to Toubkal (4,167m), from where you'll enjoy fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert if the clouds cooperate. The descent will be long, passing through the refuge and returning to Imlil by the well-worn trail. This is a long day of hiking, needing 8-9 hours to rise 900m and then descend almost 2,500m to Imlil! You will be dropped off in Marrakech at 5 p.m. Our 6-Day Berber Villages Trek has come to an end.
