A moderate level of fitness is required. You won’t need to be super fit, but you should be in good shape and feel comfortable hiking up to 6 hours a day. There will be a few exposed sections so those with vertigo may not be too comfortable. Your guide will never be far away to help you get through it though.

The maximum group size is 15.

The minimum age for this trip is 18.

You'll stay in dormitory-style accommodation in Amman. For the remainder of the trip, you'll be camping in large canvas square style tents with a raised bed, mattress and furniture in each. If you would like to take your mattress outside to a nearby dune to sleep under the stars, let your guide know as this can be arranged. Here is a list of the accommodations:

Day 1: Nomads Hotel (or similar)

Day 2: Little Petra Bedouin Camp

Day 3: Milky Way Camp

Day 4: Milky Way Camp

Day 5: Nomads Hotel (or similar)

Day 6: Not included

The amount you tip is entirely up to you. A good rule of thumb is $5 per day for your guide and $3 per day for the driver.

The weather in the summer can get very hot, especially in the desert, with daytime temperatures averaging between 32-36 degrees celsius. May to Oct is likely to be sunny and warm, while the nights are alot cooler. Rain is unlikely but not unheard of, so do be prepared, especially if travelling between November and March.
