You'll meet your guide at Amman Airport, who will then transfer you to your hotel in Amman - one of the oldest cities in the world, inhabited since the bronze age. The city is growing into a modern city but retains its character and history. Depending on your time of arrival, a city tour can take place.
After a traditional breakfast, you'll head over to Wadi Mujib for a hike along the Siq Trail. Passing one of the canyons' highest waterfalls along the way, you'll be treated to incredible scenery as you follow the river through the gorge. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, the gorge may contain pools deep enough for swimming. This is an ideal walk to take slowly and enjoy the cool water and shade, especially in the heat of the summer. After lunch, your guide will transfer you to Little Petra to visit the site located in Al Beida.
You'll start the day by entering Petra via ‘The Back Door’ avoiding most of the tourists. Following the Nabataean route, you make your way down a good trail into Petra. Just beyond, carved into the cliff face, ‘The Monastery’ suddenly comes into view, where there is a Bedouin café for refreshments if you would like. Nabataean steps then lead down into ancient Petra; past ‘The Treasury’ and though the famous ‘Petra Siq’ to the shops, cafés and hotels of Wadi Musa.
After having a traditional breakfast in Wadi Rum, you'll head to the foot of the Umm AlDami mountain - the highest mountain in Jordan. The hike to the summit takes around 2 hours and offers spectacular views of the Wadi Rum Desert and Saudi Arabia. After a desert cooked lunch, you'll make your way back to your camp in Wadi Rum.
Today you'll drive to the lowest point on earth to float and relax in the Dead Sea (423m below sea level) - also known as the salt sea. Enjoy the sunshine and view whilst trying out the invigorating mud bath to cleanse the skin, in the evening your guide will drive you back to Amman.
Your guide will collect you from the hotel and drive you back to the airport, for your flight home.
Start: Your driver will collect you at any time, from Queen Alia International Airport in Amman (AMM), on day 1 of your itinerary.
End: Your guide will drop you off at any time, at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman (AMM), on day 6 of your itinerary.
