Annapurna Base Camp trekking is one of the famous treks around Annapurna region which is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary. This trek takes you to Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill, and offers the most beautiful sceneries imaginable – the mountains, the settlements of the Gurungs, and stunning rhododendron forests. Annapurna Base Camp trekking will give you beautiful views of Himalaya range including Machapuchhare (6,993m), Mt. Annapurna II (7,939m), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7,525m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6,986m), and Mt. Hiuchuli (6,441m). Natural hot springs are yet another attraction on this route.

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, our local guide will receive you. You will be dropped off at the hotel, and after checking in, you could walk around Thamel, a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. Observing the market and some souvenir shopping will freshen your mind. Dinner at an excellent restaurant will give you a taste of Nepali cuisine. Your trek guide will brief you about the trip and the next day’s sightseeing trip. Overnight at Kathmandu.
We will catch a normal tourist bus and drive past river valleys and terraced files to Pokhara. The bus will stop by at couple of places where you can grab breakfast and the lunch. With many other amazing places to visit, Pokhara is a peaceful as well as a thrilling place to be. We will have enough time to soak in the amazing ambiance and spend a lovely evening by the lake while making final preparations for the trek tomorrow. Overnight at Pokhara.
We drive in the morning from Pokhara to Nayapul which will take around one hour to reach. After arriving at Nayapul we start our trek towards Tikhedunga via Birethanti. We walk for three hours in the company of lovely view of small waterfalls while passing through forest finally brings us at Tikhedunga. We rest for while and have a lunch here with the enjoyable beautiful view of mount Machapuchhare. After having a beautiful lunch we start following our trail which gradually ascends to Ulleri village after walking for two hours. Overnight at Ulleri.
We begin our trek in the morning from Ulleri village and after walking for two hours we reach Banthanti. We rest for while and have lunch here with the beautiful view of mount Machapuchhare, Hiun Chuli, and Annapurna south. After having a beautiful lunch we start following our trail which gradually ascends until we reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani is the village of Poon (Magar) people.After arriving at Ghorepani we will meet some great views of mountains. Overnight at Ghorepani.
Before dawn, we hike for 40 minutes to Poon Hill through the rhododendron forests to view the breathtaking Mountains like Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Baraha Shikar, Annapura I, Annapurana South, Annapurna III, Machapuchhare, and so on. We witness famous sunrise over the Himalayas and walk back to Ghorepani for breakfast. We start our walk on a short but steep ascent until Deurali. We pass through the forest with the company of amazing flora and fauna. We follow the deep forest until we reach Banthanti which takes about two hours, and a little further to Tadapani village. This village is surrounded by beautiful forests. We can see more great view of Mount Machapuchhare, Annapurna south, Hiun Chuli, and Annapurna II. We pass this village, crosses the forest and descend to reach Chuile. Overnight at Chuile.
We start our trek through jungle and descend for next 1hr then we reach at Ghurjung. Following the village area we reach the main point of this area Chomorong, we pass this village following stone stairs for one hour to reach the village of Sinwa, which hosts an amazing sight of Machapucchare peak. Overnight at Sinwa.
We continue along the trail from Sinwa to Bamboo. The uphill trek following the river is challenging but surrounded by beautiful views, it will definitely be worth it. Overnight at Himalaya.
We start our trek through the river shore then over steep trail over the mountain side. It takes a few hours until we reach Machapuchhare Base camp on undulating trails. We can see great views of Mount Fishtail along with Mount Hiunchuli, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharyachuli and Gangapurna. Overnight at Machapuchhare Base Camp.
Heading up on the final stretch to Annapurna Base Camp, we leave the greenery behind the path which widens when we enter the Annapurna Base Camp. The 360-degree panoramic view of snowcapped and rocky landscape with the mountains Fishtail, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other mountains will be overwhelming. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.
We are get back from the lap of snow covered mountains towards green mountains. Following Machapuchhare Base Camp, where we spend some time to capture the scenic view of mountains. Continue trek to Bamboo, which gets its name from bamboo vegetation in abundance here. Overnight at Bamboo.
We trek uphill to Kulldighar and again downhill walk to Chomrong Khola. After arriving at we climb up stone steps to Chomrong. Following the trail for a while we arrive at Jhinu Danda. We stay here for a night and we enjoy the hot springs for our tired muscles. The spring is 20 minutes away from Jhinu Danda. Overnight at Jhinu Danda.
We begin our trek with the mesmerizing view of landscape of the midhills of Nepal. After arriving at Naya Pul we drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.
On a seven-hour drive on a tourist bus, we reach Kathmandu. You can spend some leisure time reflecting on the trek and doing last-minute shopping in Thamel. We meet up for dinner in the evening and celebrate successful completion of our trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.
An amazing trip to the Himalayas concludes on this day. Local guide will drop you off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Have a safe flight back!

Currently, all foreign nationals (except Indians) require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at
Kathmandu's Airport. If getting the visa at the airport be prepared for long queues. You will also need to provide one passport photo and the $50 USD fee if staying for less than 30 days.
Everest Base Camp requires you to trek at altitude for up to 8 hours per day, with a small 5-7kg rucksack. We recommended to train with long hikes and/or a sport of your choice (e.g. jogging).
The minimum age for this trek is 18, or 16 with a parent/guardian.
You can arrive at any time on the start date of your trip, and you’ll be picked up from the Airport. We recommend you fly out on the afternoon of the last date of your trip, as the internal flights the day before can be delayed in poor weather.
You stay in Hotels in the city of Kathmandu and Pokhara, and Tea Houses whilst you are on the trek. The Hotel will be 3 stars. The Hotel is a twin shared room, but you can get your own room for the 4 nights for an additional charge. The hotel has access to showers and intermittent internet. If you would like to book any additional nights at the hotel, then please contact our host in Kathmandu.
The teahouses are very basic. Some of them have squat style toilets, whilst others have Western style. Showers do not always offer warm water and most teahouses will charge you for use of a hot shower.
Meals are available from teahouses, but all food has been carried up there by porters, so the higher up you go, the more expensive it
becomes. Some teahouses do have access to the internet but at a cost.
The average group size is 12 people, with a maximum of 14.

The currency used in Nepal is Nepalese Rupees (NPR). You are unable to get NPR outside of Nepal and therefore you will need to exchange money in Kathmandu or in Pokhara. The easiest currency to exchange are USD and Euro’s. You can also withdraw NPR from the ATM, but check with your bank about the relevant charges to do this.
Please Note: If using your card in Nepal, then you will be charged a 4% service charge. Many places outside of Kathmandu, Pokhara and in the mountains will not accept card.
While the itineraries are designed to allow for adequate acclimatisation you are likely to feel the effects of altitude sickness and oxygen
deprivation whilst on this trek. Please be aware that your guide may deem it unsafe for you to continue trekking at any time, and arrange for you to descend to a lower altitude.
When you go above altitudes of 2,500m, you need to allow your body time to acclimatise properly. When you are at altitude, you enter a
lower oxygen environment. All relevant itineraries are designed to ensure that this process is met.
So, what does this mean? This may mean that you may need to follow a longer route during the ascent phase to achieve the end goal. In this case, reaching Annapurna Base Camp. It may also mean that you must rest for a night or so at certain altitudes to ensure that our bodies acclimatise properly to the change in environment. This will allow you to ascend safely and have a much more enjoyable experience.
High altitude sickness can happen to anybody – old or young, in a good shape or not. Being in hurry in the mountains of Nepal can be deadly. Your body can adjust to this altitude, but only if given enough time. If you find symptoms of altitude sickness, then you must descend at any cost. The symptoms are totally different from one person to other. Sometimes you might feel headache, you may feel you need to throw up, your fingers may go slightly numb or you may start breathing heavy. If you have these kinds of symptoms you should stop at this height. Drinking lots of water can help you out.
You are advised to move slowly, don’t rush and ensure you protect yourself from the weather.
It is customary in Nepal to tip guides and porters. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. You can give any tips to your lead guide at the end of your trip in Pokhara. This will then be shared amongst the whole team.
For full transparency, the lead guide will distribute the tips to the guides and porters in your presence.
A good rule of thumb is around $120 as a tip, although the amount you give is entirely your choice.
The Himalayas can change rapidly and the guides may be forced to change the trip itinerary accordingly. Travellers need to be prepared

Low Season (End Nov - March)
Daytime temperatures will be cooler, and the nights will be very cold. The days can bring winter storms, with regular snowfall above 2500m. Domestic flights are difficult at this time of year.
Monsoon (Jun – Mid Sep)
Temperatures are hot, with heavy rainfall almost every day. Trails can be very muddy, with frequent thunderstorms and high winds.
Trekking season (End Mar-May & Mid Sep – End Nov)
The most popular time to trek with mild – warm days and cold nights. The mornings tend to be clear, with some short rainfall in the late afternoons. In the higher altitudes, the temperatures often drop below freezing in the evening. At Annapurna Base Camp, the temperatures can drop as low as -10°C.
When traveling in countries such as Nepal, it's important to maintain vigilance with hygiene and food safety. Bring plenty of hand sanitiser.
Whilst on the trek you have a few options for water. You can buy bottled water from the tea houses or you can fill up from the tap. If
filling up from the tap, be sure to use the free purification tablets. These will be provided by your guide. Bottled water can be quite
expensive to buy.
It may be a good idea to consider going vegetarian when you are trekking to Annapurna Base Camp. It is not uncommon for meat to be carried up to the Tea Houses for a few days in the hot sun by the porters.
Many different ethnic groups coexist in Nepal, and as a foreigner, you may be an object of curiosity. You may find that in certain places, the locals will want to talk to you or take pictures with you.
You will almost certainly be subject to a bit of hustle and hassle in Nepal, getting a dose of it immediately when you arrive in the airport.
Nepal live in a haggling society where almost every monetary transaction (outside of hotels and restaurants etc) involves haggling.
It is likely that you will see beggars in Kathmandu. This can include children. Please be vigilant with your valuables when in this busy
