Day 3: Summit Mt. Triglav (2,864m)

After breakfast, you'll get started with a short hike to the beginning of the via ferrata course. This is a 400 m-long section of safety cables. Equipped with a harness and gear, you will clip onto the cables to climb up the rock. Don't worry, it's great for total beginners and the guides are fantastic at making you feel confident and safe!

Shortly after completing the via ferrata, you'll reach the summit of Slovenia's highest mountain, with its incredible panoramic views. After some time for photos, you'll head back down and be driven back to Bled. You can choose to stay longer in Bled or we'll drop you at the bus station which runs local transfers until 7 pm.

Awesome experience, the most fun I've had this year. Our guide Blaz was excellent, fun, and (importantly) safety-conscious.

I would recommend doing the trip with a group of friends but probably not if you are a solo traveller as the enjoyability largely depends on the group and guide. If the weather is bad you will be in the hut for the whole afternoon / evening with not much to do. The room we were given was so small only one person could stand up, all the beds were pushed together. You do not have an option to pay for a separate room, even if you are the only female in a tiny room with men or offer to pay for every bed in an empty room. The guide wasn’t happy to I had asked. There is no water at the hut and a small bottle of water is €3. No water is included in the evening meal. The mountain was beautiful and the scenery incredible. Climbing to the top was a great experience.

Wow !! What can I say, apart from epic from start to finish. I think we may have under estimated how physical this was going to be, however worth every single bead of sweat to summit at sunrise. Thank you too all the staff for getting us there Jase&kim

The Mount Triglav climbing season is from July through October, though early- and late-season ascents are also possible. Summer weather on Triglav is quite cool; when it's pushing 30°C at lower altitudes, it may be just 10°C on Triglav summit. It often drops below freezing at night so don't forget to pack warm clothes Weather on the mountain is highly variable, bringing unexpected wind, rain and snow.
