You'll meet your guide at the hotel in Athens and then head out and explore a lively area of downtown Athens. In the evening you'll enjoy dinner in a local tavern, and get to know the team.
After a traditional breakfast, you'll head towards the Zagori region where your hike will begin. Until 1974 the village was connected to the rest of the world only by the famous Vradeto steps. During the hike, you'll visit Beloi, a natural balcony that offers the best and most imposing view of Vikos Gorge. In the afternoon you'll have some free time to explore the village and enjoy a lunch with local delicatessens.
You'll start the day with a hike over to the traditional village of Monodendri. Weaving and winding your way through the gorge, your now deep in the National Park of Vikos-Aoos, A magnificent area with great ecological value. In the afternoon, you'll hike through Vikos, with breathtaking views of the valley, before heading down to Papigko village. This is where you'll spend the night.
An early start today as you head towards Dracolimni. Start the hike through forests, before entering the alpine zone of Mt. Tymphe. Hiking through the mesmerising landscape, you'll end the day at the refuge, surrounded by the impressive Greek mountains.
It's worth waking up early to catch the sunrise today - you'll have the perfect view from the mountain refuge. After breakfast, you'll head down the mountain via the Ovires natural swimming pools. In the summer you can enjoy a swim in the pools or under the small waterfalls. After lunch, you head to Pades Village and enjoy a short but beautiful hike along the Aoos river, until you reach the beach. Here, you can enjoy dive in the clean and cold waters, before heading back to the village for dinner.
After breakfast at the guesthouse, it is time to explore Voidomatis river. An ideal spot to enjoy some rafting down the crystal clear waters in the heart of the National Park of Vikos. The rafting is aimed at beginners, and no experience is necessary. Afterwards, you'll start your journey back to Athens.

You’ll need some previous hiking experience. Expect to be on your feet for up to 8 hours per day with rest stops.
You'll stay in cosy, family-run hotels and mountain refuges. The accommodation will be based on double occupancy and if you are travelling by yourself, you will be paired up with another hiker. Free wifi is available in most of the hotels. The sleeping arrangement at the mountain hut (Day 4) and at Pades village (Day 5) are dormitory-style.
Warm showers are available at the hotels but not at the mountain hut.
Start: You'll meet your guide at the hotel upon arrival. You are free to arrive at the hotel at anytime on day 1. Your guide will confirm the hotel address in Athens after booking.
End: You'll end the trip back at the hotel in Athens after breakfast on day 7 of the itinerary.

On the last day, your guide will drop you off at the central square of Athens Syntagma or Monastiraki. From here, you can take the metro or taxi to the airport or other places in the city.
