Day 2: Rafting on the River Cetina

Right after breakfast, we head out for an exhilarating rafting trip on the Cetina River. This 10 km (3 hr) journey is segmented into three distinct parts. Your guide will tell you about the river's rich ecosystem and brief you on any potential challenges ahead.

A short break allows for a refreshing swim and rest under the trees. The adventure escalates in the second section with invigorating rapids. Here, at the 'Tisne Stine' area, thrill-seekers can plunge from the cliffs into the deep waters. The final segment presents gentler rapids, guiding you towards the idyllic setting of Radman’s Mills, where your rafting experience concludes.

After returning from the river, you'll have time to unwind, explore the town of Omiš or enjoy a nice afternoon at the beach.

Yet, the adventure doesn’t stop there! Discover a sunken ship resting in merely 3 meters of water – an ideal spot for exploration.

The tour ends at Omiš main beach, where you can have free time to enjoy the beach and maybe a cocktail or two from the nearby beach bars.

I spent a wonderful week in Omiš with Malduk, carrying out several activities including kayaking, canyoning, hiking, rafting and visits to nature parks nearby. The organisers and guides put so much effort into making me feel welcome and tailored the experience really kindly. The experiences themselves are set in such an idyllic environment and created and led with clear expertise and connection to the locality and its culture. This was great if you're into physical activities balanced with space and time to chill and the atmosphere in the groups was really friendly and fun, again steered really nicely by organisers and guides. Omiš is a real hidden gem... the mix of bustling town, the freshwater Cetina river and the relaxed coast gives you a perfect escape from busier spots along the coast and in Split if that's what you're after. Thanks so much to Malduk for a brilliant time.

We did the multi-activity adventure week at the end of July and it was fantastic. All the activities were brilliant, and the week they planned had a good mix of different things. The accommodation was very pleasant and close to a lovely beach, and Omis is a great town to explore. Special thanks to Damir, Eva, Toni and Mitch for their hard work to make this week such fun, and in particular for their help and flexibility with reorganising an activity at short notice. They are a well organised company who communicates very well, and they go above and beyond to ensure your trip is a great experience. Thank you!

This trip is suitable for a wide range of experience levels. Some general fitness is needed for these multi-hour activities. Other FAQs

Yes, you can extend the trip even before your arrival. Just let us know which dates you would like to extend, and if you would like to add any other activities during the extended period.

Currency and payment methods: The official currency of Croatia is Euros (EUR). Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro) are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, shops, and larger cities like Split and Dubrovnik. However, it's a good idea to carry some cash for small purchases and in more remote areas. Notify your bank about your travel plans to ensure that your debit/credit card works smoothly abroad, and enquire about any associated fees. ATMs are readily available in cities and tourist destinations, making it convenient to withdraw cash in Euros. Be aware of potential foreign transaction fees imposed by your bank when using ATMs abroad. Be sure to budget for extra meals, drinks and taxi/ bus fares. You'll also want to buy some souvenirs and go shopping for local products, such as Croatian wine, olive oil, and handicrafts. Tipping Policy: Tipping in Croatia is appreciated but not obligatory. It's a common practice to leave a tip for good service. In restaurants, it's customary to round up the bill or leave a tip of 10% to 15% of the total amount if service is not included in the bill. Check the bill to see if a service charge has already been added. For other services, such as guided tours or transportation, tipping is also appreciated but not mandatory. You can round up or leave a small tip as a gesture of gratitude. Currency Exchange: It's advisable to exchange some currency before your trip or upon arrival at the airport or a local bank for convenience. Exchange rates may vary, so compare rates at different exchange offices to get the best deal.

Greetings: When meeting someone for the first time or entering a shop or restaurant, it's customary to offer a polite greeting, such as "Dobar dan" (Good day) or "Bok" (Hi). A handshake is a common form of greeting for both men and women in Croatia. Dress Code: Dalmatia, like much of Croatia, has a relaxed dress code, especially in coastal areas. Casual attire is generally acceptable for most occasions, including sightseeing and dining at casual restaurants. However, dress modestly when visiting churches or religious sites. Language: While many people in tourist areas speak English and other languages, learning a few basic Croatian phrases can go a long way in showing respect for the local culture. Respect for traditions and customs: Be mindful of local customs, especially in smaller communities. Respect religious traditions, and ask for permission before taking photographs in churches or at local events. If you are invited into someone's home, it's customary to bring a small gift, such as flowers or a bottle of wine, as a token of appreciation. Beach etiquette: Follow the local beach rules, which may include designated swimming areas and respecting quiet hours. Nudity on public beaches is generally not acceptable. Noise levels: Keep noise levels down, especially during the afternoon siesta hours when many businesses may close for a short break.
