Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day at 4:00 PM

Arrive at our surf school in the heart of Newquay to check in and get the surf trip started. You'll be greeted by your friendly host, who'll make sure everyone has all they need and that we're ready for a great few days of surfing.

After the warm welcome, we'll make the short drive (15 mins) to our surf camp, your home for the next few days. If you've arrived by public transport, we'll make sure you hitch a ride in the Landrover to the camp.

The first evening is pizza night. Using our outdoor pizza ovens, it's a social affair of cooking pizzas and settling into camp life.

Day 2: Surfing introduction and ability measure

After breakfast at the camp, we head back to the surf school for the first surfing lesson. We start with an introduction to surfing and an overview of individual surf goals with help from the surfing ability measure from iAM bands.

Post-surf, it is time for lunch at one of the many options that surround the surf school. Dine in or grab a pasty and hang out at the shop (surf school); it's your call.

After lunch, the second surf is more of a relaxed and less structured session. Building on the morning success and coaching pointers while having fun and enjoying being in the surf.

Day 3: Eat, sleep, surf, repeat

Day 3's surf lesson is a recap of good general surf principles and the setting of individual surfing goals. This session is then filmed, and we'll take a look at the results and talk through your waves later in the afternoon.

For the 3rd night evening meal, you're free to explore Newquay and soak up a sunset on the beach (fingers crossed).

Day 4: Don't panic and carry on surfing

Day 4 starts with a theory session at the camp. We'll help to dispel any myths and help answer those burning surf questions. Or, we'll simply explain the rules of etiquette, board design, or anything else which might be helpful.

After class, it's time for lunch in Newquay and back in the water for another surf session.

Tonight is the Last Supper. Our final night's meal is together in Newquay at a pre-booked restaurant. It's a great time to share stories of the last few days and make plans for the next surf trip!

Day 5: Final surf lesson and farewells

After our final surf session of the week, it's time to say our fond farewells and make the journey home. It's an epic week of surfing, making new surf buddies, and hanging out in the surf capital of the UK.

With years of global guiding experience — from European mountain seasons to the Atlantic’s surf breaks — Jey brings energy, authenticity, and a deep love for Cornwall’s rugged landscape to every session. He’s joined by a close-knit crew of local surf instructors and adventure guides who share his down-to-earth approach. I had the most amazing time at beginners surf camp. I shared this experience with 5 strangers but by the end we were all good mates. Luca, the host/instructor was knowledgeable and fun. He was so patient and made us all feel relaxed in the water. He gave great advice and I think we all made progress. We swapped a surf session to do coasteering instead which was great adventure. The eco campsite had warm showers, composting toilets and spacious tents with an air mattress. Evenings were mostly spent at the onsite lake either swimming or floating about in the boat or paddle board, though we needed plenty of insect repellent as we were there at a particularly buggy time of year. The biggest downside was that the camp site is a 20 min drive from Newquay and , as you are not allowed to drive your personal vehicle on to the site, there's an 8 min walk so if you wanted to explore other things in the area independently you would need to factor this in.

Excellent surf instructor. Can't recommend all instructors from Cornish Wave enough. Site tents, spacious, clean, well maintained. Equipment for surfing and coasteering top notch. Everything ran smoothly with options along the way for people who maybe didn't want to surf on any particular day. Fellow campers/surfers were really lovely people. Overall, 10 out of 10, I would highly recommend.

An absolutely phenomenal trip! Willow was the most FANTASTIC instructor we all could have hoped for - so attentive, friendly and super supportive! The trip was well structured but also had enough time for us to explore Newquay, with very good recommendations for food spots from the team! The camping site was fantastic and very private - well equipped (kitchen, toilets, showers, fire pit, lake with paddleboard, kayaks and pedlos) Would 100% recommend to anyone, cannot recommend them enough! Thanks so much guys 😊

We did the 4-night surf camp and had the most amazing time. It is an unique way to experience the Cornwall lifestyle and meet new people. Our instructor and guide Jake made it ever more special, I would never have managed to catch a wave without his patience and encouragement. The camp site is gorgeous in an area completely surrounded by nature and has all the needed amenities

It’s highly recommended you take out personal travel insurance. Travel cover protects you in the case of unforeseen circumstances including cancellations, injuries, equipment loss, flight changes, problems with public transport and other events that could negatively impact your trip. Note that standard insurance often doesn't cover adventure activities. We recommend using specialist adventure travel insurers, like [Rise & Shield](https://riseandshield.com/?ref=mdi5ywe), for your trip. Specialist insurers can cover unique scenarios, like trekking at altitude or emergency evacuation in hard-to-reach places, that ordinary travel insurance doesn’t cover. It's your responsibility to carefully check the details of your policy to ensure that you're covered for the specific activities you'll be carrying out.
