Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Cornish Wave HQ in Newquay - Night 1

You will meet your hosts, guides and other adventurers on your weekend at our HQ bang in the centre of Newquay at 6pm. Once the warm welcomes and introductions have been made, you'll drive in convoy to our Wild Camp, a 10 min drive from the town. If you are arriving by public transport, let us know and we can help arrange a lift with the instructors or other adventurers! You then have the rest of the evening to become accustomed to camp living and to get to know the others on your weekend.

Day 2: Surfing, Coasteering & Wild Camping - Night 2

After a camp breakfast of cereals, fruits, teas & coffees you will head back into Newquay for your first day filled of activities.

You'll meet your guide at 9ish for a short brief before heading down to the beach for your surf lesson. Most people on the trip are beginners, but there is often an option for something a little more challenging, should you want to. There will be plenty of time between activities to grab some lunch, take a stroll around Newquay’s many surf shops or head back to the base and hang out in the garden. In the afternoon you’ll take a short walk over to our coasteering location, commonly known as the ‘Gazzle’. Don’t worry if you aren’t confident in the sea, your guide will explain and demonstrate all the skills you need to have a fantastic time.

Day 3: Surf & Goodbyes!

After a refreshing breakfast, you'll wave goodbye to the wild camp and head back to Newquay, jump into a wetsuit and hit the Cornish waves one last time. Your second surf lesson builds on the previous day's experience – today is all about having fun in the surf!

By 1 pm you'll typically all surfed out, and with your appetite for adventure satisfied it’s time to say fond farewells.

We did coasteering and a couple of surf lessons with Jey and the team and what a fantastic experience. The team are knowledgable and friendly, great communicators and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves and learned. There was a vast range of ages and abilities in our courses but it didn’t matter, Sean was able to tailor the experience for everyone involved ensuring each person was safe and smiling. Cracking team and a truly memorable weekend. 👍

Look no further than Cornish Wave if you are looking for something as simple as a surf lesson, or as full as we went for with the Coasteering, surfing and wild camping experience. Everything was set up ready to go for us, with excellent instruction from a great team at CW from the moment you get your wetsuit, to the tuition in each of the activities through the day and also right into the camp site itself. A magical experience for all of the mixed ability people we took with us, some surfers already and other just keen to try it out - it didnt matter the CW instructors who happily give their time to you regardless of the level of ability. The coasteering will get your heart racing, but the campsite is a sea of tranquility with a stunning lake, great woodland camp kitchen area with BBQ, and an amazing open fire with seating around for your evening catch-up. The whole crew from Max and Viktor who were our guides, to Zoe in the shop who also helped with my 1000 questions before booking were world-class hosts, and company for the weekend. BOOK NOW - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!!
