A unique surf & yoga retreat in Cornwall for a weekend packed with energising surf & restorative woodland yoga

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Cornish Wave HQ & Night 1

You will meet your hosts, guides and other adventurers on your weekend at our HQ bang in the centre of Newquay at 6pm. Once the warm welcomes and introductions have been made, you'll drive in convoy to our Wild Camp, a 10 min drive from the town. If you are arriving by public transport, let us know and we can help arrange a lift with the instructors or other adventurers! You then have the rest of the evening to become accustomed to camp living and to get to know the others on your weekend.

Day 2: Surfing, Yoga & Night 2

After a camp breakfast and a cuppa! You will head back into Newquay for a day filled with activities.

You'll meet the guide at the surf shop right on the beachfront, before heading out for your first surf lesson. If it’s your first time you'll learn the skills to feel confident enough to surf in the future on your own accord. For those that want a little bit more, the guides can accommodate that too.

You'll then have some time to enjoy the town, explore the beaches, shops and of course eat at one of the many many places that Newquay has to offer

Later in the afternoon, you'll head over to your luxury wild camp in the woodlands. It's here that you'll enjoy some yoga, a few drinks and some good food around the camp fire.

Day 3: Early morning Yoga and Surf

You'll start the day off with a light breakfast in the hammocks, before heading off for your morning yoga session in the open barn. The focus of the session is to awaken your body and recharge the muscles for your next surf lesson.

All stretched out and ready for the day, its back to Newquay for the final surf of the weekend. Recapping on the previous day's lesson and capitalising on existing skills, the aim for the day is both progressions and simply having fun in the surf.

Absolutely fantastic weekend in Cornwall. The campsite is gorgeous and the facilities are really good. Our guides Victor and Willow could not be more helpful and made the trip really fun. Victor was an excellent surf instructor and Aimee's yoga classes were peaceful and serene - just what you needed after surfing.

Surf and Yoga camp 🏕️ Solo. Absolutely loved very minute - 5 star all round! Everything was so well organised with great communication. Facilities were fantastic; so nicely designed with a rustic charm. The instructors and staff were utterly brilliant, at camp and in store. Jake our surf instructor was awesome - so encouraging, such a laugh and catered to all our abilities. He made us all feel so welcome and well looked after in camp 🤙🏻 Aimee’s yoga was the perfect compliment to surfing, with her choice of flow to suit us all, down to her invaluable words of wisdom and kindness. She brought such a warmth - well and truly one of the girls 🙏🏼 Just to add to the adventure it’s defo worth trying Coasteering! Scaling rocks and leaping off was so heart wrenching but really fun!! Matt was super chilled out, fun and let you choose your comfort level :) Was blessed to meet the loveliest group of women to share the weekend with - strangers who became friends. Couldn’t have wished for a better birthday - being sang to in the sea, giggling over cake by the fire and having adrenaline highs - huge thank you! ❤️

I booked onto the surf, yoga and wild camping weekend with Cornish Wave last minute as a solo female traveller and had absolutely no idea what to expect given I've never surfed or done yoga before, but I had the best time! The wild camping was an experience in itself (my first time using a compostable toilet!) and the campsite was so peaceful and really well equipped. Surfing was great fun, and our instructors (Matt and Jake) were really friendly, helpful and patient. Aimee was also a brilliant yoga instructor and it was really something quite special to do yoga in the woods in the yoga shala. I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this weekend break to anyone.

Thanks to Adam, Jake, Victor and Zoe for an incredible weekend that exceeded expectations. The campsite is a short drive out of Newquay in a secluded valley next to a lake, which was great for an early morning swim. It was great getting back to doing some surfing and can recommend Cornish Waves. All the instructors were great, good quality equipment and their shop is only a short walk to Fistral Beach. I will definitely be coming back! The yoga sessions were really great complement to the surfing and great to be surrounded by nature.

I’ll definitely be doing more yoga. Would recommend this trip to anyone and I will be back again next year to do it all over again. Thank you so much.
